⚠️ Community Safety Message – Shaw, Royton & Crompton ⚠️ |
||
|
We have seen an increase in burglary offences across the Shaw, Royton and Crompton areas in recent weeks. We would like to remind residents to remain vigilant and take extra precautions to help protect their homes and property.
Crime Prevention Advice
✅ Always lock doors and windows, even when at home. ✅ Ensure UPVC door locks are fully engaged by lifting the handle and turning the key. ✅ Keep keys, wallets, handbags and car keys away from doors, windows and letterboxes. ✅ Leave lights on timers when out during the evening to give the impression that someone is home. ✅ Make sure sheds, garages and outbuildings are secure and consider fitting additional locks or alarms. ✅ Keep valuable items out of sight and mark property with security markings where possible. ✅ Check that side gates are locked and fences are secure to prevent easy access to rear gardens. ✅ Consider installing CCTV, video doorbells or burglar alarms to deter offenders. ✅ Be mindful of suspicious vehicles or individuals in your neighbourhood, particularly those paying unusual attention to properties.
Report Suspicious Activity
If you see anything suspicious, please report it to Greater Manchester Police via: 📞 101 (non-emergency) 🌐 www.gmp.police.uk 🚨 Always call 999 if a crime is in progress or there is an immediate threat to life. By working together and looking out for one another, we can help reduce crime and keep our communities safe.
